Markos Williams

Markos Williams is a guest teacher and choreographer. Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, he received his dance training from multiple outlets. He has been dancing for over a span of 14 years and  has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Hip Hop and also has competed at both the regional and national levels. In high school he also performed and traveled with the award winning Oak Grove Centerstage Show Choir where he was the Dance Captain for three years. From his time with Oak Grove Center Stage he received the award for Best Male Stage Presence at Fame Nationals in Orlando, Florida. After high school, Markos graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in communications, where he also studied dance improvisation for a semester. In 2012, He was named Forrest General’s Day of Dance winner, and has also performed in multiple  Miss Hospitality Pageants.  He has been teaching in competitive dance fields for over a span of nine years where he has won many awards both at the regional and national level. He has choreographed for many competitive studios, dance teams, and show choirs. He has also choreographed for Lamar and Forrest County Distinguished Young Woman Programs in South Mississippi. In 2018, Markos was a guest artist for MDLA (Mississippi Dance Leader Alliance) an organization dedicated to educating dancers in the Southeast region. He has also done work in television where he was able to choreograph a small Broadway/Musical Theater number for a T.V. show called Small Town Big Mayor.  Currently Markos loves to travel to New York City to further his dance education, and is currently registered at Ballet Magnificat for their adult  program to further his ballet training this fall. Markos hopes to continue his love and joy for dance education.
